Description

Some friends were staying over at my house and my friend started to read a story to his daughter, I looked over and thought the image looked cute so I doodled a memory of the image. I later then did a quick painting based on that memory. I made them look kind of Edwardian.
I am not traditionaly an illustrator style painter but I love the work of 'Whistler' so I painted it in a quick sketchy impressionist style such as his.
I know it is not the most exciting of images and very different from my other stuff I posted here on GFX.

This is a pretty poignant image - Edwardian - true - the clothes of this man make him look like a mafioso, who has a tender side towards his children, and is reading his daughter a story... nice work! [+7]

. I never thought of the Mafia connection but that is what I like about art is that you can imagine what you think it might be about.

When I painted it I did not know who the characters were as I dressed them as I made it up - I thought he looked like a Naval officer about to go to sea - but that does not mean that it is!

I have no idea!

The facial expressions are really good. Very interesting and nice job.
